✍️ Trip Report Guidelines

Help the community travel smarter.

Whether you flew first class to Tokyo or stayed at a charming roadside inn, your experience matters. Great trip reports don’t just tell us what happened—they help others decide what to do next.

Every report is reviewed by our team before it goes live to keep the community helpful, trustworthy, and high-quality. This page outlines how to make your report count.

✅ What Makes a Great Trip Report

🧳 Thoughtful and specific

Tell the story you’d share with a friend. Include details like:

  • What made the flight, hotel, or destination stand out?
  • What didn’t go as expected?
  • Would you recommend it—and why?

📸 Visual and immersive

Photos go a long way. Reports with images are far more helpful (and more likely to be published). Try to include:

  • The room, seat, lounge, or meal
  • The view, amenity, or experience that stood out

💡 Helpful and honest

Whether it was a 5-star hotel or a budget flight, your voice matters. Share tips, context, and anything you'd want to know if you were going.

Examples:

  • “Sit on the left side of the plane for sunset views.”
  • “If you’re sensitive to noise, ask for a room away from the elevator.”
  • “The in-room coffee was surprisingly good!”

🗺️ Structured but personal

You don’t need to write a novel. Just organize your report clearly. We guide you through optional sections like:

  • Arrival experience
  • Room or seat details
  • Elite benefits received (if any)
  • Food, service, and tips

⚠️ What Might Not Be Published

We may not publish reports that:

  • Are very short or vague (e.g. “Great hotel!” with no context)
  • Contain AI-generated filler, spam, or promotional content
  • Include personal grievances unrelated to the travel experience
  • Feature offensive, aggressive, or discriminatory language
  • Lack clarity or helpful content

Our goal isn’t perfection—it’s usefulness. If your report doesn’t meet community standards, we’ll let you know.

💬 How Reports Are Reviewed

All submissions go through a light editorial review. We check for:

  • Clarity, tone, and value to other readers
  • Relevance and originality
  • Appropriate and respectful language

We may request updates or reject submissions that don’t align with our guidelines.

✨ Want to Be Featured?

Reports that go above and beyond may be included in:

  • Cardonomics newsletters
  • Homepage spotlights
  • Community roundups
  • Staff picks

If you'd be proud to send this to a friend or post it publicly, it's probably a great fit.

🙌 Final Thoughts

We believe everyone has something to share. The best reports feel human, honest, and helpful. Thank you for contributing to a community that helps us all travel better.
